5 Takeaways You Should’ve Learned From Apple’s 2018 Hardware Event

Yesterday Apple had their traditional September hardware event where they talk about the new iPhones and the other devices that the company will release in the near future. Normally I like to watch the keynote while it’s live but I had to settle for watching it at 2am. With that said I know people don’t want to watch a damn near 2 hour long keynote so don’t worry because your plug is here.

Apple Unveils 3 New iPhones

As many people expected Apple came out with three new iPhone models. The models being the iPhone Xs, the “budget friendly” abd colorful iPhone Xr, and the large and very expensive iPhone Xs Max. The phones are each pretty big and make it a bit difficult to believe that at one point this company thought a 4-inch phone was the perfect size. The latest iPhones measure in at 5.8″ inches, 6.1″ inches, & 6.5″ inches respectively with the 6.5 inch iPhone Xs Max set to be the flagship phone.

Oddly enough the mid range iPhone Xs has a smaller screen compared to their “budget friendly” iPhone Xr. One would think that the company would go the opposite direction and have the cheaper phone have the smaller screen.

iPhones just got more and more expensive

With new and bigger iPhones it’s only right that things would get more expensive right? Well how about paying $1,449 for a damn phone? Seems a bit much right? Well that’s the price of the new iPhone Xs Max should you opt for the new 512GB option. The option is also available on the other two models it causes the price to get jacked up.

The starting prices for the phones are $749 for the Xr, $999 for the Xs, and $1,099 for the Xs Max.

No iPad or Mac News?!?!

Oddly enough this keynote made no mention of any iPad or Mac products. The

Along with 3 new iPhones there will also be 3 new Apple Watches. The Series 4, Series 4 Hermes Collection, & Series 4 Nike+.

Apple Watch Focuses More On Health

The upcoming 4th iteration of the Apple Watch was revealed and it’s quite larger than the past 3 versions. 30% & 32% larger to be exact. The UI has been changed to accommodate the larger screen and new watch faces have been added. More importantly the new Apple Watch has a bigger focus on health compared to previous versions with the series 4 being able to detect 3 new heart conditions such as Atrial Fibrillation.

The Apple Watch series 4 will also have the ability to detect falls, so if someone sends your ankles to the Shadow Realm while you’re playing basketball you can contact emergency services. In all seriousness thus is a good feature especially for older individuals especially considering if the device detects you’re immobile fora minute it will automatically contact emergency services and you’re emergency contacts with you’re location.

This is all of the really important info from the keynote, if you want to learn a bit more about the new iPhones then keep your eyes glued here because I’ll be giving my thoughts on them later on today.
