LA Lakers Great, Kobe Bryant, Dies In Helicopter Crash

2020 has just kicked off and shit has already gotten off to a fucked up start. Earlier this month The Rock’s father, “Soul Man” Rocky Johnson, passed away and just earlier today Kobe Bryant and his 13-year old daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas. According to sources, there were 7 other people aboard the helicopter. The crash happened around 10 am and there were no survivors.

With the news being rather sudden, the NBA didn’t cancel all of the games slated for today but the teams and players took the time to pay their respects to legend. During the opening minutes of the Toronto Raptors/San Antonio Spurs game, both teams took a 24-second Shot clock violation to Honor Bryant who wore the number 24 jersey for a part of his career.

Fans also took time to honor Bryant with chants of his name erupting in some venues even as far as Israel. With the news being horrible it’s nice to see fans doing something good.

Bryant was drafted oin 1996 by the Los Angeles Lakers out of high school and retired in 2016. He was an 18-time All-star, 2008 MVP, two-time Finals MVP, 4-time all-star MVP, & 11-time All NBA first team selection. Bryant is all-time in all time scoring among NBA players, oddly enough he got knocked down to fourth just yesterday but current Laker, LeBron James.
